But in typical "the enemy of our enemy is our friend" form, the Bush war machine has embraced this hot wire with warm zeal. The US Mainstream Media has carried this policy forward by promoting the United Front as the new darlings and the "last hope" for our aim of destroying the enemy. The Sydney Morning Herald says the Northern Alliance are merely one exhibit in a rouge's gallery of new allies: "Pompous Twaddle from the Family of Freedom" and "US Allies Are Killers and Drug Dealers" (about Pakistan's intelligence service).
