With protests confusingly called for 12:00, 1:00 and 5:00 pm, the Westwood protests grew gradually in size throughout the early afternoon.
- Roughly 150-200 people were present at the peak between 2 & 3 PM.
- Earlier, Jim Lafferty of the National Lawyers Guild negotiated an arrangement with federal agents allowing limited space for protesters along Wilshire Blvd. Agents informed him that due to an executive order, all Federal Property would be closed today to both protesters and picnickers. Though not unprecedented, the executive order was characterized by Lafferty as “extremely rare.”
- One male demonstrator was arrested. He will be cited and released according to Jim Lafferty. He was involved in a disputed interaction with a woman in the weekly pro-Israel demonstration (with less than 10 people) held several yard away. Most witnesses said that the pro-Israeli woman instigated the confrontation, but only the anti-war demonstrator was arrested.
- By 3:30 PM, most had departed to attend a 4:00 p.m. interfaith gathering at the Mosque at USC 1075 Exposition Blvd.
