Elected officials, including the Governor and the Mayor, are planning to attend rallies in support of Israel’s bombing and pending invasion of Lebanon this Sunday. Peace groups are calling for a counter demonstration to denounce US support for the war. Supporters of peace and justice are encouraged to participate. Police are expected to close streets around the Israeli Consulate, located at 6505 Wilshire Boulevard starting at 11pm this Sunday. Peace demonstrators are advised to get there early.
