LOS ANGELES, July 25, 2006 - Judge Helen Bendix will announce her decision in the case South Central Farmers vs. Ralph Horowitz and the City of Los Angeles, et al tomorrow at 9:30 AM in the Los Angeles Superior Court 111 North Hill Street, Dept. 18.
The ruling will depend on if the attorneys for the farmers were able to convince Judge Bendix that the city’s sale of the land to Horowitz was unlawfully transacted and constituted a waste of public funds.
A ruling in favor of the farmers will hopefully result in the sale being nullified and the transfer of the land back to the city. The farmers believe that they stand a better chance of negotiating with the city to regain the land for farming.
