SANTA ANA, May 15, 2008 - Labor unions from Orange County and San Diego County gathered at the Civic Center in Santa Ana to protest Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new round of budget cuts. Deep cuts to public education, health care, welfare recipients, law enforcement, parks, probation departments, and the disabled are expected. Massive layoffs of certificated and classified employees in school districts throughout California have already occurred.
