With the support of SAG, local Teamsters and SEUL, the Film & Television Action Coalition will be hosting a rally this Sunday, 1PM at the Hollywood Bowl. The event is in support of their countervailing tariff proposal. The proposal is that in response to the $1,000,000 subsidy that Canada gives to media corporations to produce in Canada, the US- through the Department of Commerce- should excise a $1,000,000 tariff. All this towards keeping union jobs in Hollywood.
Pitted against powerful management unions like DAG, and organizations like the Motion Pictures Association of America, the coalition has a tough fight. They are asking supporters to sign a
petition that has reportedly received 10,000 signatures.
