Approximately 1,500 colorfully-clad demonstrators marched and danced through the streets of San Diego today in a celebration of life. They were protesting BIO, a biotech industry convention starting here tomorrow. Signs, puppets and songs were used to call attention to issues such as biopiracy and genetically modified food.
Police presence was enormous...and unnecessary.
