Motherhood and Peace provide the theme for a beachfront celebration. In LA as across the nation,
activists took time to honor both being faithful to the holidays’ founder
Julia Ward Howe.
A gorgeous Sunday afternoon was only made better by the 1500 +/- mothers, grandmothers, family members and friends taking part in
PEACE ON THE BEACH. The event included presidential candidate
Dennis Kucinich, commentator / author / activist Arianna Huffington and a host of other fine speakers and performance artists. Following the stage activities, aerial artist John Quigley / SpectralQ positioned everyone into the image of
Picasso’s work “Motherhood” for an aerial photo. Event photos:
