Luna Sol Looking For
a New Home
Longtime youth and activist hangout, performance space, and vegetarian cafe Luna Tierra Sol was evicted for refusing to pay rent until their space was brought up to code by the landlord. Located by the northwest corner of Macarthur Park, Luna Sol was and is a place where art and activism collide, make love and music, and cook up potato tacos. They were and are part the living soul of the city, back when the park was full of junkies, and the big commercial buildings were vacant, Luna Sol was there. So, the space will be gone, but the cafe will live on in a new space. They're having a Dia de los Muertos party today at 3:00 p.m. Go there and support them.

Across the street, the old Park Plaza Hotel is being turned into fancy condos for yuppies. You can guess what happens next.
