US businesses and their allies in the government have somewhat succeeded in marginalizing the “subversive” May Day which continues to grow all over the world but ironically not as much in the US where this worker celebration started. To sabotage this leftist day, seen as a threat to businesses, US government officials first displaced Labor Day far away in the calendar, in September. Then after recognizing that their subterfuge didn’t work, as a final blow, they renamed May Day as the Loyalty Day--a conservative holiday. But despite all of these devious tactics, adamant American and immigrant workers have not given up. May First, 2005, they will march in several cities all across the USA.
