The Santa Monica Critical Mass
is a monthly bicycle ride which celebrates cycling to
assert cyclists' right to the road. It is a demonstration that a
better world is possible, a world free from the automobile, and the
traffic, pollution, and oil wars that it brings. The idea started in
San Francisco in September 1992 and has spread to cities all over the
world.
