BoycottKPFK.org reports that a hundred protesters showed up to begin a boycott of the summer fund drive. The activists, like most of the left in LA, are torn between supporting the longstanding progressive radio station and decrying its management and board, who are attempting to make the station more palatable to apolitical people with more money.
The fight has gotten uglier, with angry words published by KPFK management against the protesters. Meanwhile, the Pacifica Board has decided to forgo modifying the bylaws, and board member Michael Palmer (a real estate VP) has resigned. Activists claim meaningful victories.
