Close to 100 people marched through the streets of West Hollywood this Sunday in a series of weekend events part of the Transgender Day of Remembrance. The Day was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The day started as a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999 to honor Rita Hester, a victim of a anti-transgender murder, her case has yet to be solved. The day has since spread to cities around the world.
