Andrew Myers wants dispensaries to have monopoly on growing marijuana??? (tags)
In this July 13, 2014 article in the Sunday Arizona Republic on page A26 it sounds like Andrew Myers, the director of the Arizona Dispensaries Association wants to keep growing marijuana illegal to the general public so the medical marijuana dispensaries that he represents can have a monopoly on growing and selling marijuana. Which means they will be able to continue selling medical marijuana at the outrageously high price of $300+ an ounce.
Federal Prohibition Against Legalized Medical Cannabis Enables Robbery, Kidnapping (tags)
The kidnapping, torture and castration of a local medical cannabis dispensary owner plays into the hands of the federal prohibition against medical cannabis and prevents the voters of states like CA and CO from being able to put their votes for legalization into practice. By creating a hostile business climate and forcing dispensary owners to deal in cash the federal government directly enables these sorts of kidnappings and robberies. Yet big banks continue to launder drug cartel money? Hypocrisy anyone?

Activist San Diego Screens Medical Cannabis Film (tags)
A new film, ?Medical Cannabis and Its Impact on Human Health,? exposes the lies about the medical use of marijuana that led the San Diego City Council to enact a virtual ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city. Director James Schmachtenberger, who works at a local dispensary, appeared with the film Saturday, April 30 at a showing sponsored by Activist San Diego. The film is a bit dry, and even Schmachtenberger describes it as not especially entertaining, but it lays out the facts about marijuana's medical uses and makes the case for allowing the substance to be used to treat disease and preserve health.
San Diego Hammers Down on Medical Marijuana Dispensaries, Despite Public Support (tags)
Despite overwhelming public input asking for a looser ordinance that would allow medical marijuana dispensaries to locate in commercial areas throughout San Diego and remain open while they pursued permits, the San Diego City Council voted 5-2 on Monday, March 26 for an ordinance that will close down all dispensaries for at least a year and force them to locate only in industrial zones — inconveniently far from the patients they serve. Even most of the Councilmembers who voted for the ordinance, which was tweaked at the last minute to make it slightly less restrictive, made it clear that they regard medical marijuana patients and the institutions that serve them as a detriment, not an asset, to the city.
