CARSON UNVEILS DRUG FREE CITY WARNING SIGNS (tags)
The City of Carson has just achieved another milestone in ordinance making. On July 15, the city has just declared Carson as a drug-free city. In a simple but well attended program that was held at the front courtyard of Carson City Hall, the City officials led by Mayor Jim Dear and Elito Santarina, Mayor Pro tem unveiled the drug-free city warning sign acclaimed by the cheering public. On April 16, 2010 the Carson City Council unanimously voted to adopt an ordinance that declared Carson as a “drug-free city and to provide enhanced penalties for the manufacture, sale, distribution, possession and illegal use of controlled substances.

The 40th day of the death of Philippine president Cory Aquino was commemorated with a memorial mass in St. Philomena Parish in Carson city in Los Angeles county last September 9, 2009 The memorial mass led by the parish community of St. Philomena Church at 21900 S. Main St. Los Angeles, CA 90745. More than 250 people attended the memorial mass celebrated by Fr. Thomas Asia, Filipino associate pastor at St. Philomena Church.
