Kaugnay nito, sa pariralang Villaroyo, tumalab ang hambalos ng kampong Noynoy na ahente ni Arroyo si Villar dahil hindi siya umaatake kay Arroyo. May mga palatandaan din na sa automated electoral system ng Smartmatic, na kontrolado ng US at mga ahente nila, may naganap na preprogramming para panaluhin sina Aquino at Binay. Halatang kinabigan ng napakalaking boto sina Manny Villar at Loren Legarda. Overkill at di kapanipaniwala ang biglang pagbagsak nila. May mga ulat na matataas na kinatawan ng CIA, pamilya ni Aquino at rehimeng Arroyo ang nagpasya sa pre-programming anim na linggo bago araw ng halalan. Suddenly, the prospect of an “electronic Garci” cheating operation is creating apprehension that the country is on the brink of another people power or martial law… or, God forbid, civil war! A few days ago, I got a call from a fellow Filipino-American journalist who said that a powerful man has the “source code” of the Precinct Count Optical Scanner (PCOS) machines that will be used for the first time in May 10 elections. I followed the trail of the information and talked to a Filipino international lawyer who has done some research on the question of the “ownership” of Smartmatic-TIM. The following is his response:

The Philippine Left and the 2010 Elections The issue of the New Peoples Army collecting ‘permit to campaign fees’ (euphemistically named ‘revolutionary taxes’ by the Communist Party of the Philippines) from capitalist traditional politicians (trapo or rug) wanting to campaign in NPA strongholds has once again resurfaced in the lead-up to the May 2010 elections. The fees buy these trapo politicians a ‘permit to campaign’ in NPA areas. According to a February 5 Dateline news report, documents obtained from an NPA leader arrested in January this year, pegs the taxes from P30 million for a presidential candidate to P5000 for a candidate for local council. It’s a well-known ‘secret’ in the left that this practice of tax collection during elections is a lucrative source of fundraising for the CPP-NPA.

There is real possibility for a significant leap in the reform process in the Philippines after the 2010 elections. If, as seems likely at this time, Noynoy Aquino wins the presidency, a number of converging developments could produce the conditions necessary for change. The first is Noynoy himself, who has successfully embodied the political legacy of his mother Cory, and his father Ninoy. This, in turn, has introduced a new dimension of enthusiastic voluntarism to the election campaign.
