The closer Australia gets to the Federal election, the fewer the political differences between the two major candidates! The chances of opposition leader, Kevin Rudd becoming the next Australian prime minister have increased dramatically following his private dinner engagement with king maker, Rupert Murdoch in New York today. During his quick visit to the U.S., Rudd also addressed the Brookings Institution in Washington and confirmed that any negligible differences between his policies and Howard’s would be completely eradicated by the time of the election and that he was ready, willing and able to assume the ’position’ of lackey, sycophant and new governor of America’s newest colonial acquisition, Australia! [O Ned, you’re better off dead!]
Student Statement Opposing UC-Bechtel Bid (tags)
The Regents of the University of California have announced a partnership with the Bechtel Corporation in their bid to manage the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The students of the UC oppose this partnership and the UC’s continued involvement in the design and production of nuclear weaponry.
Outrageous! That is what many are calling the war profiteering by U.S. corporations.
An “unbroken forest” of oaks and conifers blanketing the highlands of Iraq and Iran . . . The hills of Palestine and Lebanon, crowned with cedars and pines . . . “Dense forest growth” in arid North Africa . . . Juniper, fir and sycamore woodlands blanketing Syria, and oak groves dotting the Arabian peninsula.
The war critics were right -- not in the way they expected.
