It is likely that the Syrian rebel groups are are by now hopelessly interwoven with the Al Nusra Front and thus any attacks on the legitimate Syrian government of Pres. Bashar Al Assad by the U.S. will encourage the growth of Al Nusra and then in time their attacks will turn on U.S. soldiers and civilians.
